Jake's Wire-Tightener System
A gloved hand holding Jake's Wire-Tightener System against a strand of barbed wire.

Jake's Wire-Tightener System is designed to allow one to quickly tighten loose fence wire without having to cut and splice. The system simply consists of a 1/4-inch-thick, double U-shaped "clip" (about 3+ inches in length) plus a hand-held "turning tool." One end of the tool is slipped into one U-shaped end of the clip, which is then affixed onto the wire. The tool then rotates the clip 360 degrees over top of the wire until its other U-shaped end affixes underneath the wire. The result is that the slack wire is now tightened, and the turning tool is removed. The clips are available in (1) a standard 1/4" diameter wire for light gauge wire up to 12 gauge barbed wire or (2) a heavy-duty 5/16" diameter wire used for smooth high-tensile wire or where extra tensioning is needed in some barbed wire applications.
