Laevo FLEX Back Exoskeleton
A man wearing T-shirt and shorts under a Laevo FLEX Back Exoskeleton while bending over to pick up a machine from a field of potted plants.

The customizable Laevo FLEX Back Exoskeleton is designed to reduce the risk of job-related back injuries related to a variety of actions (e.g., bending forward/backward, reaching up/out, squatting, kneeling, lifting) while minimizing physical hindrance from the exoskeleton. The main parts of the device include a vest and adjustable supports for both thighs, all of which connect to hip joints mechanisms that allow for variations to the amount of tension provided when lifting. Key to its benefits are the gas springs that connect to swivel joints. Stress normally experienced in the back is transferred to other body parts, such as the chest or thighs.

Estimated Cost Cost range: $2,700
